Shea Moisture Twist Out After Jessicurl Deep Conditioning

Hey Chicas!!! So I have just experienced an amazing twist out. You all know that I am on the journey to learn my hair, products and so forth so I consulted a friend and decided to try Shea Moisture AGAIN for a twist out...without using any other products. (Last time I tried to mix shea butter with it and it was a catastrophe).
So this time I did a Deep Conditioning using Jessicurls Weekly Deep Conditioning and then after rinsing I put Shea Moistures Curl Smoothie all over. Instead of doing big box braids I did medium size braids, sprayed on some Jojoba Oil, tied it down with my silk scarf and went to sleep.
Check out my hair!!!! Normally after I untwist my braids, they are sorta all over the place...is a cute way though. This time they laid down, were very definied and not too fluffy. My hair is very soft and not oily.
This is definitely touchable hair. All the way down to my ends. Normally when I go to church people say things about my hair...but yesterday everyone was quiet until after church..my man said "what did you do to your hair?" I said I tried a new product....what you think? "All he said was..I like it." And I left it at that!!!
I really really like it!!!

So this goes to show you, don't give up on products...just try something new...maybe its not the product but the user..as it was ME!!!

My BFF had to use Eco-Styler with it to define her curls...I just deep a Deep Cond before and then did this...what are you using to wash/cond your hair? Are you doing weekly Deep Cond????

  5. I'm a Daughter of Carol....lol. My aunt got me the whole Tui set for Christmas, so that's what I've been using. I wash my hair and deep condition weekly. My hair is thick, so I can't see doin' the co-wash thing...just not for me.

  6. @ Amani's Mom, you don't need a lot of this product when you use it b/c it can be heavy if you do. and you may want to use it while your hair is either wet or damp and then sit under a dryer so it absorbs evenly. ive read horror stories of folks who used too much initially, but then took it down a notch and they loved it.

  7. OK Daughter of Carol.....tell you mom I said " Get at Me" LOL!!! Nah, for real, you have to do what works BEST for your hair!! Hands down!!! I don't think all women do the co-wash thing...but I def say try it out again. ONe thing I dont do is I dont use a leave in conditioner when I use the curl smoothie....because its too much and makes my hair heavy. So I say do a regular wash like you do and then try the curl smoothie in a twist!! I did smaller twist than normal..and it turned out pretty good. But then again...if you don't like it I'll give you my address where you can send the unused portion!!! hahahaha
